About the Artist

Working with glass is as close as I can get to sculpting light itself.

I love the dualities inherent in glass art. Glass is both incredibly strong and incredibly fragile. When I design a piece, I need to consider both refraction and reflection, both aesthetics and structural stability. Most of all, I love how glass art can honor both the sacred and the profane.

When I first took up glass as a medium, I felt compelled to communicate to my children my unconditional love. After my kids could not appreciate any more gifts of artwork, I was still bubbling with ideas and creative energy. Everyone deserves to feel celebrated and appreciated for being their authentic selves, especially young people whose identities make them feel isolated or rejected. I wondered if my overflow of art would be useful for other parents and relatives of kids on the autism spectrum and in the LGBTQIA+ community. I first offered stained glass rainbow flags and Pride-themed holiday ornaments for sale at a small town’s Pride event. That is how I found my niche!
